Alert 11, July 2023

We have completed 15 of our 36 PATONs and none of our 5 Bridges. Flotilla Aid Verifiers (AVs) should plan for when they will be conducting their assignments (or let Pam know otherwise).

Pam will be teaching an electronic navigation tools session at September’s DTRAIN to coxswains. Other interested members can either participate (remotely) in FL 12’s session on August 9th, or in one-on-one sessions with Pam. Please contact if interested.

Again, thanks to all the AVs who are continuing to participate in this direct support mission! It has a direct impact on navigational safety.

Alert: If you are a boater, be aware that NOAA is ‘retiring’ its paper (Raster) Charts. In fact, the San Juan Island (SJI) charts are already retired. Be sure to become knowledgeable about using your electronic navigation products and keep them up to date.

    Flotilla 11's 2023 year-to-date results in public education, vessel safety checks, patrols (including a hypothermic kayaker rescue), and other member and unit activities.

  • Member Training

    A list of the annual trainings, workshops and courses completed by Flotilla 11 members in the first half of 2023.

  • Awards

    Flotilla 11 members received the USCG Unit Commendation, the Auxiliary VE/MDV Service Award and Auxiliary Membership Awards at the June 2023 flotilla meeting.

  • Change of Watch/Command

    Changes of command in June and July 2023 at Coast Guard Station Bellingham and the cutters Sea Lion and Terrapin, attended by Flotilla 11 members.

  • New Uniforms

    The Auxiliary is getting two new uniforms, an Auxiliary version of the active duty CGU work uniform and the new Auxiliary Working Uniform (AWU).
